万里长江，风景如画。倾泻奔流时，雄浑磅礴，九曲回肠处，如涓涓细流。长江水的滋养，孕育了一位名播四方的土家奇女子——陈涓。
自幼生长在长江之滨、“听惯了船工的号子，看惯了船上的白帆”的陈涓，4岁时，便给100个以上的观众现场演唱，1993年起，自创男声女声对唱的表演形式，男声浑厚嘹亮如三峡雄风、女生温柔甜美如长江缓流。
此后，她一路乘着歌声的翅膀，走出湖北、走向全国，并将难以置信的演唱绝技带给世界各地的人们。
有歌唱就有快乐
因为父母工作调动，陈涓3岁时随父母从武汉来到宜昌生活。提及自己的童年，陈涓脸上洋溢着幸福的笑容。
那个时代的童年，没有游戏机，没有电脑，更没有奥特曼，唯一的消遣就是听广播跟着学学歌，广播里的歌曲陈涓很快就烂熟于心，“高兴了我就会自己放开唱，没想到大人们听了，都会高兴地给我些糖果之类的零食吃。”提起小时候的事，陈涓笑得很开心，她说那时一想吃糖了，她就会欢快地唱起来。“初尝甜头”的她开始更加用心地学歌，渐渐地，陈涓妈妈的同事们都知道了这个小姑娘很能唱。有一次儿童公园举办联欢会，妈妈的同事让4岁的小陈涓有了第一次登台表演的机会。“不仅有糖，还有漂亮的新衣服穿，”在童年时的陈涓看来，唱歌就像神奇的宝盒，想要什么就能有什么。
当时，市群艺馆举办第一届歌手培训班，得知消息后陈涓迫不及待地让妈妈带自己去报名，然而150元的报名费让这个并不宽裕的家庭有些为难，看见妈妈有些犹豫，懂事的陈涓哀求道：“妈妈您让我学嘛，我一个月不过早钱就省下来了。”陈涓的话让妈妈深受感动，没想到平日里大大咧咧的孩子竟然如此热爱唱歌。咬咬牙，妈妈便为陈涓报了名。
开课后一看，陈涓傻了眼，同学都是大人，一连上到最后一堂课，矮小的陈涓都未能引起老师的注意。直到最后一节课，老师发现最后一排不起眼的角落里竟然还坐着一个小朋友，于是老师让她上台唱首歌，陈涓高兴地唱了一首，曲毕，老师被震撼了：“没想到你小小年纪声音竟如此有爆发力。”爱才的老师当即决定收陈涓为关门弟子，免费传授专业知识。“回头想想，我真的很幸运。”她说，因为自己独特的嗓音条件如果得不到老师的认可，就不会有现在的陈涓式演唱了。老师悉心的指导，因材施教，为陈涓未来的演艺事业奠定了良好的基础。
升入初中后，学习任务越来越重，父母也开始不断地给她“敲边鼓”，让她摆正学习和唱歌之间的关系，这让从小无拘无束的陈涓很是郁闷，刚好，学校举办全校歌手大赛，陈涓以一首《我多想唱》一举夺得第二名的好成绩。
“我唱的全是我自己真实的想法，这首歌让我唱得很痛快。”陈涓从那时开始就意识到，唱好一首歌，除了技巧，还要有饱满的情感。
看着孩子如此热爱唱歌，父母越来越支持她。那时候父亲发工资后的第一件事就是去给陈涓买两盘原装磁带，从磁带里，陈涓熟悉了越来越多的歌手，还能根据他们的发音位置进行有效模仿，男声女声转换自如。
从宜昌出发
1989年，对陈涓而言，意义非凡。那一年唱歌由从小的兴趣爱好变成了闪亮的个人名片。
在宜昌灯展的汇演中，陈涓代表伍家岗区参加比赛一举夺得金奖，她被作为特殊人才从工厂引进区文联，并被破格提拔为文联副主席，在全市县市区的文艺评奖中，她被授予宜昌市政府最高文艺奖：三峡文艺明星奖。
因为雌雄双声的独特演唱，陈涓成了三峡民歌的一块“活招牌”。1995年春，长阳土家族自治县荣获全国先进文化县，陈涓在当地文化部门组织的专场欢迎晚会上，献唱一首《纤夫的爱》，令原国家文化部党组书记、常务副部长高占祥赞不绝口。雄浑大气的男生、娇媚婉转的女声由陈涓的口中唱出，这位见多识广的老部长不禁击节叫好。
“天下之大，歌坛豪杰之多，可谓数不胜数。陈娟的歌却能令人过耳不忘、雅俗共赏”。当着众媒体，老部长给了陈涓这样的评语，还为她题字留念。“陈娟，你就是到中央民族歌舞团去独唱，也是毫不逊色的。”一句话敲开了陈涓北上之路。
1996年，陈涓参加成人高考，进入北京高等学府，学习正规的美声唱法。2002年-2005年，陈涓到北大研究生班继续学业。自学成才的陈涓，一直非常珍视每一个学习的机会，对歌曲的理解、细节的把握水平不断提高，歌唱时“严谨和轻松”的平衡度也越来越好。
然而，在她收获越来越多鲜花和掌声的同时，质疑声也此起彼伏。“一个女孩，要唱歌就好好唱，干嘛不男不女、怪里怪气地唱歌。瞎搞！”曾经，包括父亲在内的许多人反对陈涓这样男女混唱。但在陈涓看来，男女混唱只是一种形式上的不同，对别人也不会造成伤害。“而且看过、听过我演唱的人，他们眼神中流露出的惊奇和赞许我永远也忘不了，看到他们高兴的样子，我就更开心、更快乐。”
能有这一“绝招”，也是天赋使然。陈涓曾经带着疑问来到中央音乐学院嗓音研究所检测过声带，经专家鉴定，陈涓声带很长，呈粉红色（一般人是白色的），她的发音器官构造好、音域宽，大脑皮层反映特别快，所以能够自如转换男声女声。科学的佐证，让陈涓更加坚定自己的特色演唱。
随着名气越来越大，中央电视台文艺频道新开的王牌栏目“星光大道”节目组向她发出了邀请。而这一次陈涓拒绝了。“有一种输不起的感觉”。
家人朋友知道后，开导陈涓，不管结果怎样参加就有收获。终于，2005年1月，“星光大道”栏目组录制现场，陈涓用三首歌曲力克群雄。在《女人歇不得》的女声独唱中，她独出心裁地把织布机搬上录播现场，一边以娴熟的手法编制西蓝卡普，一边以秀丽委婉的歌喉如泣如诉，吟唱出三峡地区女人世世代代的梦想，充满阴柔之美；而高亢激昂的男声独唱：《船工号子》，陈涓的歌声把观众带入了惊涛骇浪的长江三峡的激流险滩，充满阳刚之美。男女声对唱：《龙船调》则是陈涓一人双打的杰作。这首名满全国的湖北利川民歌，陈涓分别用男声、女声演绎出人世间暖暖的温情，最是充盈着和谐之美。
只要家乡有需要我就回来表演
如果说之前的全国各地60多次演出获奖让陈涓名扬三峡，获得央视星光大道月冠军，则使她很快红遍全国。之后，省级卫视、中央媒体的邀约纷至沓来，全国各级纸质和网络媒体的传播，让她名播四海。2010年，作为中国民间艺术的优秀代表，陈涓更登上世博舞台。
走出国门，掌声也在异国响起。近年来，陈涓受邀在新加坡、越南、马来西亚等国家演出，新加坡电视台、越南胡志明市电视台不仅对陈涓的演出做大篇幅报道，还为她做了专访，使她成为当地的热点人物。
“我希望将来能成为歌坛常青树，希望自己不是昙花一现。”2008年9月，在音乐人朱德荣的赏识和支持下，陈涓的首张个人专辑《我是你的月亮》问世。12首磁性厚实、浑然天成的女低音，唱出的已不是儿时“想唱就唱”的简单歌谣，而是15年从艺经历的丰富感悟。
出专辑时，陈涓将自己的原名中的“娟”改为“涓”，以期望自己的歌声向涓涓细流一样源源不断，能滋润着喜欢听她唱歌的朋友。
走下舞台，卸下妆容，陈涓没有停下播洒欢乐的脚步。在获得《星光大道》月冠军后，她便组织了宜昌女界10知名人士到五峰土家族自治县资助10名贫困学生。此后，陈涓的身影常常出现在各地的爱心义演晚会上和拯灾募捐义演中，一如她对歌唱事业的执著。“只要家乡有需要我就回来表演”，长江三峡默默滋养陈涓独特嗓音，走遍各地的陈涓，也始终保持着对家乡的深情眷恋。在歌唱的道路上，陈涓一直在幸福地耕耘者，传递着三峡之美、民歌之美、真情之美。“如果有一天老了，希望还有人记得我的歌”。
